Very excited that the new album Goodbye Bread from San Fran's finest garage rocker Ty Segall is finally released in stores TODAY! It's got more of a pysch-pop vibe than the out and out scuzz fests of the past but ranks up there up there with his most rocking, lo-fi, ragged finest. Plus it's got one of the best album covers we've seen in a long time - awwwww.
If you haven't heard it yet, you can download the new single You Make The Sun Fry for free here.
The album is receiving a tonne of splendid reviews saying very nice things too:
"Goodbye Bread is filled with such rich, breathtaking moments, and Segall, who plays every instrument here, sounds as though he's savoring every part of his process." 8.1, Pitchfork
"Goodbye Bread is no doubt impressive on repeat listens. Whatever comes next could be scary good."** The Fader**
"Goodbye Bread can be both brutal and sweet...It’s both the Ty Segall of Lemons, Melted, et al, as well as being the Ty Segall of the today (and the future?). It’s Segall’s most accomplished album to date." 83/100, Reliver
Only three weeks now until we get to see Ty and his band bust out the jams on our shores for the very first time, can't wait. Joining him for these sure to be amazing shows are Straight Arrows and Bachelor Pad in Sydney, Super Wild Horses and Chook Race in Melbourne, and Tiny Migrants and Marty Privates in Brisbane.
