It is with great pleasure that we announce the signing of local garage-rock duo Unity Floors to Popfrenzy Records.
With a stellar 7" out last year, the boys have garnered a solid local following and supported the likes of Lou Barlow and Wild Flag. The full length LP/CD will be out mid 2013 - bring on the floors!
In the meantime check out their new single 'Nice Fit'!!!
Sprawling guitars and rollicking drums, driven by a no-bullshit production ethic and a strong bond between two mates forms the nucleus of Sydney duo Unity Floors.
A simple setup, armed with only two instruments – a guitar and a drum kit, Gus and Henry go about their songwriting as if it were an extension of their everyday life and friendship. With their critically acclaimed 7-inch Women’s Golf released earlier this year, the duo have built up a solid local fan base and established themselves as a tangible force within the Australian music scene.
In 2012, the band has supported international acts such as Lou Barlow (Dinosaur Jr, Sebadoh, Folk Implosion), Wild Flag and Sunny and the Sunsets. They return from travels abroad with brand new single ‘Nice Fit’ and a full-length debut album to be released on Popfrenzy Records mid 2013.
“Unity Floors sound like just two fellas, somewhere in the outer suburbs of Sydney, splitting a case of Carlton Draught and throwing ideas around a shabby, overly echoey rehearsal space. Lost in their own self-created escape, away from all the negativity, showmanship and industry-related mirages that plague their city. How close this is to reality is hardly important. The music creates this image, and these reflective snippets perfectly trace over this created world.” – Polaroids of Androids
