Norway’s best-kept secret, Casiokids, are bringing their unique brand of irresistibly fun ‘poptronica’ to the southern hemisphere for a bunch of shows over new years 2010/2011.
Their debut album Topp stemning på lokal bar, which loosely translates to “great vibe at local bar”, is packed with layers of sweet harmonies, old analogue keyboards, hints of tropical percussion and unbelievably danceable pop hooks.
Their live shows pack a punch full of theatrics, including shadow puppets, animal costumes & video projections, plus a party-hard vibe you can’t ignore that it’s no surprise they were discovered by label mates Of Montreal.
With the ability to transform any audience into a heaving frenzied dance celebration, make sure you get involved when Casiokids play at Falls Festival (Lorne only), Southbound (Perth), Field Day (Sydney) and a Melbourne co-headline show with Neon Indian.
Dates:
Wednesday 29 December @ Revolver, Melbourne (co-headline with Neon Indian)
Friday 31 December @ Falls Festival, Lorne
Saturday 1 January @ Field Day, Sydney
Monday 3 January @ Southbound, Perth
