Blonde Redhead return to Australia with your first chance to hear their new twisted, noisy take on dream pop. It’s the bands first live performance in Australia since dropping their latest album, Penny Sparkle. The band admits to never having made a record this way before, “I fell in love with the music like falling for someone you've known for a long time. It was dreamy and sometimes was very stormy. At times, I felt like a shepherd who was trying to herd five stallions into a yard (unsuccessfully).” And with the chance to do it all over again, they’d do it exactly the same way.
Formed in 1993, Blonde Redhead is one of the stayers and shakers of independent music and is often compared to early Sonic Youth. Fittingly, the original four-piece line-up was discovered by Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley, who released the first two Blonde Redhead albums.
